Wisconsin Renters Rights
There are many rules to be followed by the landlord and tenants under Wisconsin law. Even when there is no lease, a Wisconsin landlord should not make any misrepresentations to the tenants for the premises. The tenants in Wisconsin must keep the premises in a reasonable condition throughout the period of lease. The landlord should disclose all the details of poor conditions to the tenant and in turn the tenant has got the Wisconsin renters rights to object these conditions. The landlord must keep in a reasonable state of repair portions of the premises and the equipments which are under his control. The plumbing, electrical wiring, machinery, furniture inside the premises must be taken care if under the control of the landlord. If there is damage to one tenants premises which is caused by other tenants in the same unit, the Wisconsin landlord still must make the necessary repairs. These duties are set out in Section 704.07(2) Wisconsin Statutes. |
![]() If any property is left behind in the premises, the landlord must follow the procedures set out in Section 704.05(5) Wisconsin Statutes. Similarly the landlord has got the rights to inspect the newly occupied properties of tenants. The renters are required to provide with advance notice and has a restricted access, unless there is an emergency situation. |
